FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS
Institute for Science and Technology Studies (ISTECS) announces a
forthcoming second edition
of ISTECS JOURNAL (ISSN: 1345-8981) to be published in October 2002.
ISTECS JOURNAL is an International Journal on Science and Technology
Policy published twice
a year and devoted to all aspects of science and technology policy
studies. The scope covers
the policy studies of life science, information technology, energy,
material, and social
science, including industrial and economic aspects related to these
The journal welcomes original research papers, reviews, case studies,
state-of-the-art reports, and short communications describing studies
on strategy, planning
and policy of science and technology.
The Submitted papers will be reviewed by referees according to the
normal rules of editorial
committee. Prospective authors are requested to submit the manuscript
and authors profile
directly by e-mail.

Guide for Authors :
?ESummary of papers with minimum one page must be in English. Guide
for author can be read
also in web at http://www.istecs.org/
?EPapers could be written in English or Indonesia.
?EThe first page of the manuscript should contain the following
information: (i) the title;
(ii) five key words; (iii) the name(s) and institutional affiliation
(s) of the author(s)
with address, telephone and fax numbers of the corresponding author
[as well as an e-mail
address]; (iv) authors profile.
?EThe second page of the manuscript is a summary of the paper in
English. The summary should
state clearly and comprehensively the main arguments made in the
paper. The quality of this
summary is particularly important.
?EFull papers for publication should be sent in triplicate to the
editor. Submission of a
paper should contains original work and is not being submitted for
The Editor does not accept responsibility for damage or loss of
papers submitted. Upon
acceptance of an article, author(s) will be asked to transfer
copyright of the article to
the publisher. This transfer will ensure the widest possible
dissemination of information.
?ESubmission of papers as electronic manuscripts, i.e., on disk with
manuscript, is encouraged. The preferred storage medium is a 3.5 inch
disk in MS-DOS format.
?EManuscripts should be double spaced, with wide margins and printed
on one side of the
paper only. All pages should be numbered consequently. Titles and
subtitles should be short.
Tables, references and legends for figures should be typed on
?EConclusions of the paper should state clearly its implications for
our understanding of
the science and technology policy.
?EAcknowledgements and information on grants received can be given in
a first footnote,
which should not be included in the consecutive numbering of
?EFootnotes should be kept to a minimum and numbered consecutively
throughout the text with
superscript Arabic numerals. They should be double spaced and not
include displayed formulae
?EReferences to the literature should be as follows: "Jones (1993)
reported that..." or
"This problem has been studied previously (e.g., Smith et al.,
1969)". The author should
make sure that there is a strict one to one correspondence between
the names and the years
in the text and those on the list. The list of references should
appear at the end of the
main text (after any appendices, but before tables and legends for
figures). It should be
double spaced and listed in alphabetical order by author|APO|s name.
