    "Recent Development in the Electromagnetic Production of Kaon on the Nucleon and Nuclei"

    Recent developments in the accelerator and detector technologies have delivered experimental data on the cross section and polarization observables with unprecedented accuracies. A reliable theoretical model is obviously required to explain these data. Among them Kaon-Maid [1] is the most extensively used in the world. However, it has been found that Kaon-Maid has lost its prediction power for the new data. We have started the improvement of this model by studying the process near threshold [2]. In this talk we will present our new model that includes spin 3/2 and 5/2 nucleon resonances [3].

    The applications of the elementary operator that describes the elementary process N(γ, K)Y are far-reaching. Investigation of the electromagnetic production of kaon on nuclei is a simple example. Kaon photoproduction on a deuteron is very important for studying the Y N interaction. On 3He kaon production can be used to investigate production of the hypertriton, the lightest hypernucleus. Photoproduction of the hypertriton, 3He(γ, K+) 3ΛH, can be utilized to investigate the hypertriton or 3He wave functions, as well as to study the effects of Fermi motion and off-shell assumptions. In Fig. 1 we show sample of our results on the nucleon and 3He [4].
