    Formalisme Arnowitt-Deser-Misner (ADM) dalam Relativitas Umum

    Hamiltonian formulation have shown a success when one quantize using canonical quantization method for field theory (for particle with spin under 2) e.g., Quantum Electrodynamics and Quantum Chromodynamics. With analogous of that thing, Hamiltonian formulation can be developed for Einstein field theory, which have been done by Arnowitt, Deser, and Misner (ADM) in 1962. If one use Hamiltonian formulation, then one can get a new view point. In this stage, it can be associated with initial value formulation for general relativity. When general relativity can be cast in Hamiltonian form, one can attempt to apply the canonical quantization rules to general relativity. However, a serious difficulty arises because of the presence of the constraint. Attempts to solve this constraint or to impose this constraint as an additional condition on state vector have not been successful.
